The 90 North Crew Patch commemorates American submarine history under the Arctic Ice cap. This 4 inch patch is especially for submariners who have been to the North Pole.
On August 23, 1958 the USS Nautilus (SSN-571) was the first submarine to traverse under ice to the pole. It was there she broadcast the famous message Nautilus 90 North.
On March 17, 1959 the USS Skate (SSN-578) became the first of many submarines to surface through the ice at the North Pole.
The black lines represent latitude and longitude lines looking top down on a globe, and the opening in the ice is called a polyna.
The patches are $8.00 each with free shipping in the USA.

If you want patches or anything else that is available from BC Patch or the USSVI National Storekeeper, then please contact the Storekeeper, because he can get the item for you at the wholesale price.
